SOME COOL COMPANIES I'VE WORKED WITH

(in no particular order)

AND YOU MAY ASK YOURSELF

WELL, HOW DID I GET HERE*

I’m a progressive-minded designer and writer who makes cool stuff that helps people do their jobs better and faster, either to advance their career or simply to get home to their family. I’m an expert custom fabricator, specializing in wood and steel.

I was born in Walla Walla, WA, and grew up in Park Forest, a southern suburb of Chicago. I was raised in a creative family (my father is a potter/glassblower and my moms and grandmother both graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago when I was but a wee lad) that always encouraged curiosity and expression. I was lucky to get an amazing public school education at Rich East High School (special shouts out to Messrs. Claudon, Rodey, Raftery, Freund, you know what you did) and Temple Anshe Sholom (eternal gratitude to Cantor Elson and Elyse Bell) before attending Illinois Wesleyan University, where I earned a BFA in Theatre.

Trained as a theatre director and scenic carpenter I found learning design a bit later in life. I still like to mix it up; my ideal day is a morning in the shop and an afternoon spent researching and designing. And an evening stroll with my amazing dog Nina, of course.

I’m a disciplined, methodical thinker who finds leadership opportunities wherever I fall in a team structure. I stand up to bullies. I generally smell OK. I know a lot about 90’s hip-hop. I’m 6’7” in my mind. I watched all three John Wick movies back-to-back-to-back on a transatlantic flight and didn't feel great about it at the time and mmmight do it again.

Currently available for freelance projects — learning design or custom fabrication — I’m always looking to collaborate and make something fresh.

Resume available on request. It’s more fun to talk.
